1. I have been in a long term relationship with a brotha who is a VERY FAMOUS celeb here in Atlanta. I will  not rat him out…I’m just tired of being on the low with it! He and I don’t see each other everyday, due to his crazy schedule, but I need someone who I can chill with on the regular! Introduction:

E. Lynn Harris’s novels featured a closeted R&B singer who was leaving his group to launch a solo career.  The general consensus is that the character was based on Kenny Greene (Intro-first photo).  If Greene would have lived, he would have been one of the top producers/songwriters of all time.  He was immensely talented and could sing.

Backstory:

2. Before his death from AIDS in 2001, Kenny Greene was so closeted that his group members had no idea that he was bisexual.

Gene Anthony Ray (another NY resident) let it be known (through the gay grapevine) that he thought Greene was cute, due to scheduling, the two never hooked up.

Ray would die of AIDS, two years later.

Greene worked with a variety of artists and sung background on numerous records.

Greene had various “discreet” hookups with (so called heterosexual and gay men) within the industry yet he got infected by a blue collar guy outside of the industry.

One of  the famous men he hooked up with is a well known artist (today).

Allegedly, he had sex with Greene and continues to worry about his health although it’s been 11 years since Greene’s death.

This well known artist continues to test negative but he assumes, the virus may (still) be dormant and could come out at any time.

He was so shook up after Greene’s death that he never slept with another man again.

Hint: The well known artist (may be-or may not be) an artist that Greene worked with.

    • Hidoll, what it be like? Damn, Lucille Ball was a piece of work. Gary Dourdan needs to get it together, where is his money? I read somewhere that when he was on CSI, he was stacking almost a million a month and CSI is on Cable, good question on the front page, where are his residuals, why does his house keep getting foreclosed on, he idolizing Fantasia? He should be rolling in stacks.     • I wonder will he write a gay tell-all? The ATL has more gay and DL men then straight men. I saw where a day spa was offering champagne showers last month, I was like, how can you have champagne squirt out of a shower? A bath I can see but not a shower. Kanye shrug.

  12. Al Green is a soul legend but he got issues. Great music but keep dreaming, no film in my lifetime will be made on your life unless they highlight the grits scene. Heard he is not a nice person, a dark side.

    • Al Green anytime I’ve seen him on something he acts weird. I don’t know if it’s from yrs of drug use or he lost it after the grits situation or he’s been that way all the time. Has he ever talked about the night the woman throw the hot grits on him? I mean was he abusive to her, did she find out he was cheating, had they been doing drugs or did she find out he was ” how u doin”

  15. I read Al’s autobiography and he claims that the woman was obsessed with him but that they didn’t have a relationship. Who knows? Also Jr Walker was playing in Al’s backup band when he got the call to join Motown. Al asked him to put in a good word for him. I guess he didn’t need it after all.

    • That’s interesting, paula h but Al would have been 15 years old when Jr. Walker was signed to Motown. (Wikipedia says Jr. Walker and his All Stars were signed to Motown in 1961). Al Green, supposedly born in 1946, was singing in a group who recorded “Backup the Train” in 1967. Al was singing in the gospel circuit with his family as a child. I guess it’s possible…That grits incident was the most bizarre thing. I recall the woman committed suicide. Al was soaking in the tub long enough for her to boil a large pot of grits.

      • Yea the hot grits was a wake up call for Al but believe you me he was BLESSED ya heard me BLESSED..check this. Two of of my high school classmates got married after graduation I knew them both but never knew they dated while in high school. The girl was very beautiful..smart at the top of the class..good family upbringing..never could understand why/how the 2 got together..they always say opposites attract..but to make a long story short the marriage went sour so she made up a container of pot ash/lye and syrup had it mixed so it would flow out of the container with no problem..while dude was sleeping she poured it on him starting from his face to below his waist. I was told she watched dude scream and die. Yea the very Rev.Al was BLESSED.

        • A lot of rumors surrounding the Al Green grits episode. I’ve heard rumors that the woman didn’t shoot herself in the head and commit suicide after flinging the grits on Al. I heard she was murdered (allegedly acting in self defense) and certain people were allegedly good friends with an authority figure and the case was made to go away and never really investigated. This has never been proven and could be hearsay. In his book, Al had two women in the car, on their way to the house, jealousy erupted and the woman who threw the grits became strangely quiet and she gave him haunting looks when he looked in the rear view mirror, strange vibe. He drew a bath while she offered to cook, he didn’t know she was stirring up grits on the stove. The second woman was a flight attendant (she was sane). Years ago, after I ran a piece on Al, I received an email from her sister, she said, her family knew her sister was at Al’s mansion when they heard on the radio that a woman was found murdered from an alleged self inflicted wound. They were frantic, thinking it was her and Al didn’t have the decency to call and tell them it wasn’t. Furthermore, she said, Al had planned to spend the christmas holidays with her sister and her family but after the incident, he cut off all ties from her sister even though she wasn’t responsible for the tragedy. She stated that her sister is now dead, she didn’t elaborate on her death. When I research old JET magazines, I’ve come across a few stories of Al and domestic violence back in the day and his ex-wife and daughter were on Oprah crying. I also found it strange that he had no photos of his family or children in his bio, just himself.

          • Admin there are unanswered questions regarding the grits episode! I’ve searched the web and there is a VIBE article which indicates two or three shots were heard (http://prince.org/msg/8/295160). There was a delay in calling the authorities despite Al’s pal being in law enforcement who was called to the scene. There would be no need for an Al Green movie if the grits episode wasn’t included. Don’t think the truth was disclosed then and wouldn’t be in the movie. After his divorce and his denying abuse his current marital status is unknown.

          • I never found out or heard what went wrong or who did what in that marriage situation but she did do some time..I have seen her once since she served time and was released. Our conversation was about a class reunion but here’s the kicker..when she was released from prison she was given a job there and it ain’t kitchen work or anything relating to that..it’s office work with a title. Also heard she got no use for a man either and judging by her look..need I say more?

          But like everyone else says there is something strange regrading Al keeping hush hush about the grits story.

          One thing I have to say that wasn’t wise on his part. How foolish is it for a man to bring other women around in front of his girlfriend when he knows it would piss her off then when he’s alone with the girlfriend turns his back or let his guard down by taking a shower, bath or nap when it’s possible she might do something?
          I’m telling you that saying about a woman scorned it true

          Al should have used the smart side of his brains and told her to leave then took the shower or bath

          I remember a neighbor when I was growing up who’s hubby used to flirt with other women in front of her and when she was asked if it bothers her she said he flirts so much she said “He’s just playing he knows if he wasn’t I’d mix up some lye and syrup and throw it on him while he’s sleeping”

          She said she her grandmother taught her how to mix lye and syrup, it was weird that she said it like it was something to be proud of

  17. Something was always fishy about that woman tossing grits. I read that al refuses to talk about the grits story anymore to reporters. I heard she was fixing breakfast food when he started beating her ass, after he finished, he got in the tub and she took them grits and flung them on him. People shoot themselves once in the head for suicide, not three times.

  26. I was reading bout Wyclef’s book earlier. L-Boogie sound like a hot mess that attracted trash. Then she had the audacity to write songs like “That Thing”. That’s why she so messed up now. She’ probably suffering a lot of karma. Lauren probably had friendly encounters with Clef’s wife especially since they were band mates. That is the worse type of hoe. We already know that Wyclef is a super natural hoe that will screw any woman with a pulse.

  27. I saw the pic of Nova & Ava on the net. I don’t know how it got there but I don’t believe the family would be pleased. I was at that funeral, that was the most beautiful little baby girl, all dimpled up and chubby. The delays with the trial have been draining. They just went to court a couple of weeks ago and still no date for trial. They show up in big numbers for each court date. Little Noah was snatched away from the only family he really knew. The grandparents get to see him on occassion but apparently Eddie “gave” him to his parents after Nova was murdered. It was all surreal. The courts decided it was in Noah’s best interest to be with his father but his father is not rearing him in his household. Truly seems he wanted the childcare checks to stop and they did. I also believe the amount of support was around 6k a month but was set to increase to 15k since little Ava had just been determined to be Noah’s as well.
    This Goins creature is a monster!!! I don’t believe he intended to kill baby Ava but who knows what this demented turd was thinking. It really does tear a family apart when this stuff happens. You can raise your children but once they are of age, you can “re-raise” them. Trust me when I say Nova & Ava’s death changed her parents/grandparents life forever.

  28. I just saw a story on Snoop Dogg’s son Corde he was accepted into all of these colleges, he was a star student, athlete. But turned college down to start a “rap career” working on a mixtape with his dad. He looks like a complete different person he used to be handsome clean cut young man, now he has dreads, tatoos everywhere, and is seen smoking out of a bong with his dad. I am sorry but what kind of a parent does drugs with their children? SMH…
