A rock solid source provided us with the answer to a question we asked last week.

Allegedly, this powerhouse female vocalist was involved with a younger man who cleaned her out financially.

She even made this man her manager (with no prior experience).  He siphoned additional funds.

She finally left him.

Sadly, she has to work nonstop, at her age to survive (food, mortgage, electricity).

She has become very bitter and doesn’t put much effort into her career.

She’s lost weight and she’s severely depressed with undisclosed health issues.

Who is she?

  2. I don’t know if this is Ms. Pattie, but I saw her last month in concert and compared to the other hundred times I have seen her, she was not herself. She didn’t flap her arms (the Pattie dance) not once. She was dressed in a muumuu type gown and you couldn’t see her shoes, let alone see them flying across the stage or her changing them at least once. She was so subdued we wondered if she was ill. Pattie has not written her music so she would have to perform to maintain her lifestyle but this would be horrible for any aging diva…

    • @Eye, after PR ran that article, it was so hard to believe cause I saw Patti back in the day and she was the shit, for real. I went and read more of them reviews, holy shit, they were all bad and saying the same thing you’re saying, lost her gusto and ill, frail, didn’t give a damn attitude.

      • Trust me I have seen her sooo many times it’s not funny. Back in the day, she was always a part of the Budweiser Fest and that was a summer must, every summer. She had a concert shortly after the last sister passed away. They turned the lights off & she kept signing. They rotated the stage away from the audience and she kept singing. They finally turned the mike off while she was still singing. She was singing thru her grief and she sang
        her face off. Met her at a perfume signing and she was exquisite in person, coifed and styled and made up to perfection! I hope it’s not her.

        • Eye u said it was after her last sister who died?
          This must’ve been the sister she talked about on Oprah. She was saying that when her sister didn’t like the hospital food. So she asked Patti to please fix her a egg sandwich and bring it to her. But Patti was on her somewhere and was in a hurry and told her sister she didn’t have time and went to where ever she had to go

          A day or two later Patti got a phone call or message that her sister had died. Patti said she was so hurt that she didn’t take the time to come when her sister needed her

          • Patti never forgave herself when her sister was in the hospital and wanted one of Patti’s egg salad sandwiches, Patti never took the sandwich and her sister died. She came up with the idea for the song IF YOU ASKED ME TO from this incident. Why didn’t she write the song for royalties instead of giving it a title.

    It’s a shame about Tito Jackson was a deadbeat father to his kids.(good for nothing)

    It was generous of Michael to do his sibling a solid and pickup the tab (angel)

    I had heard about Randy being heavy handed with his ex while she was pregnant ( jack-as*)

    • I hope it ain’t Miss Patti but I’m leaning towards her. I guess she hired her son as her manager after this man had his way with her, cause her son is her manager now. Damn shame, women lose they minds over good young dick, especially older women. In her prime, couldn’t nobody match her on stage, it was sad to read all them bad reviews of her. Her first husband wasn’t no good, he told her if she did so many shows she could buy a rolls royce. WTF, its your money, why you agreeing to this Melba Moore shit.

  13. I love Ms. Aretha but when I last saw her it looked as if she gained back some of the weight she lost. I was hoping she was on a roll to lose more for her health

    I saw her on an old rerun of The Flip Wilson Show and had almost forgot how thin she once was

    • Aretha has needed a stylist for 30 years. One time she had on a hair piece, color didn’t even match her natural hair. Her ass looked like ronald mcdonald. Glad it was cold when she sung at the inauguration, she had to cover her boobs. She never could dress and is a plum fool for any man. She weak as hell and tried to bribe Dennis Edwards with money to get back with her. Heard one of the Womack brothers beat her up back in the door, she was hospitalized, them ugly brothers got around whipping on women.

      • Yes, I recall gasping while she was small (at her outfits). Gravity takes its toll as we age. You have to exercise to fight gravity’s effects. No matter what size Aunt ReRe is she needs a bra with a lot of support! They hang and swing. It was difficult to see all that skin and tiddays with no support making sparks on the stage.

        • Aretha can blow but sometimes, her outfits are crazy. I also heard that Frankie Beverly isn’t the humble guy he pretends to be, heard he was cold and distant.

I read on PR, where Freda Payne told Gregory, hell to the naw, you are not managing my career, you don’t have experience, smart cookie and she still got her stacks. Didn’t they learn anything from Melba Moore? Heard Tommy Lee was Pamela’s mgr, talked her into leaving Baywatch, told her she was too big for it and she tanked. Back in the day, Suzanne Sommers hubby told her she was too big for 3′s Company and demanded she get a percentage of the show, she was dropped and tanked, begged her way back in for a few scenes. Mary J. got Kendu as her manager, Toni Braxton had her husband as a manager, she became hard to work with cause his demands were off the chain. Stupid, hire someone with experience. Now u got this blind sounding like Patti and I be damn, if it is, she’s been ripped off in her twilight years, hard work down the drain. Funny thing, famous dudes never hire their wives to be their managers, just the women hire the husbands.

      Thinking she was the main attraction when in fact it was John Ritter’s talent and comic timing. The show went on without her

  17. I guess I am the only one who thought Carmen was mis-cast for the role. She has a beautiful face but she totally lack the body & acting skills to pull off the role of sista. Carmen has no ass, tits or hips. The audience just giggled every time they did a close up in those mini dresses. I realized she was not a good actress in the scene where Sista put the other sister out the dressing room. Lonette Mckee said it with such passion & Carmen said it like it was a request. She should not be compared to Jhud in Dreamgirls. Without Nippy this would have sat on the shelves for years the way Mama, I want to sing. It was painful to watch.

    I cannot feel watching the movie “Sparkle” not right now.

    For the blind item I cannot believe a woman no
    matter enonomic background should financially be responsible for their own money.

    Rather you make $20, 000-$1 billion dollar we have control of our money and our lives in general.

    What happens to some women over the age of 50 when it comes to common sense.

    • Dionne used to keep Phil Michael Thomas until he shot to fame on Miami Vice. She was with Al Cowlings and PR had on the FP, she was down with a gangster. All those hits and she’s always had financial problems, had to borrow money from Whitney, when Whitney had money.

      • Yea another case of a singer/Dionne not being the writer of her material or having production credits..gotta keep working to make ends meet. I read/hear about all these people who had da big bucks but now..oh well I’m counting my blessings.

        • Back in the Dionne, Patti and Gladys era, women weren’t really allowed in the studio to write and producing except for Sylvia Robinson and Valerie Simpson. I now these icons are paying for it. They’re not reaping the rewards in their old age, they’ll be working until the end of time. Look at Peggy Lee, she was rolled out in a wheelchair to sing Fever until she died.

  22. Kendu is ugly and fat. MJB made a mistake, I think she realizes it now. If they divorce, she’ll have to pay alimony or a big settlement, property division and so on. I heard bad things about him. His daughter went public and said he wouldn’t even call her back when she left him a message wishing him a happy father’s day. He’s so immersed in MJB’s rich lifestyle, he’s not giving that up without a fight, he’s accustomed to it.

    • Dang. So now we will probably have another “My Life” album if their marriage does not work out. I hope it does because we know how Mary J puts her personal life into her music.

She better call Anita Baker because Walter gets a nice percentage of Anita’s song royalties, he got that in the divorce settlement. I just found out in the rws comments that is also white owned, anyways, I found out this other blog with a black face out front was also white owned, that answered a lot, I might be wrong but imo, they tried to duplicate pr’s format. A rws poster said the white man who owned the blog wanted to put pr out of business so this blog could replace it, with their black face out front.

        • Forgot to say, a lot of the pr bashing comes from the white owners of these black blogs, they got a sense of entitlement and a long time ago, I read in the rws comments where someone said lsa referred a lawyer to that anti pr site so it could stay up within they rights. Lsa is also white owned.

Hello you all! this blind item is anita baker I dont think she has to work all of her days but I noticed that her music has been different not bad but different and thats probably because she has to pay her ex-husband and his new wife royalties for the rest of her life. Everyone please support Sparkle great movie with great acting…. and twist and turns so please go and see the movie… I went with my mother to see franky beverly and maze for the cincinatti music fest, Frankie was the main performer Tom joyner was to introduce every entertainer and franky beverly to the stage but Maze was so late that Tom Joyner became agitated and said I am leaving thanks for coming and I will be on the air on monday morning but it was like Maze took his time for the heck of it and we were all starting to get agitate…. because non of the other entertainers were late coming on stage they were humble but it was like franky knew most people were at the festival to see him and he played on that fact…. his music is good but he isnt humble

    • Frankie is full of himself, been in the game so long. Love his cuts, but lets be honest, Maze has never been nominated or won any major award. I heard Anita was the mean one and her ex-husband was the nice one.

          • I went to “try” to see Anita Baker years ago. She was sooooo late, that most all of us left. We found out that she wanted to be paid in “cash” and it was difficult to find that much “cash” on a Saturday night in Flint, Michigan, except from drug dealers. The show was cancelled!!!! I did not miss anything. I don’t like her singing anyway. She sings out of her nose, just like Toni Braxton. Why do they do that????? Just sing the actual words!!!!

I like to see him perform but that lead guitar player Jobo Smith gives you a climax when he plays that damn guitar, Lawd Have Mercy…my best friend and I went and had front row seats and when he started playing the intro to the Golden Time of Day…we just stood there like two school girls who had been kissed for the first time…the way he plays is a crime…

    • Yeah not too many good ones. I did enjoy Angela Bofill I have yet to see the one with Arrested Development. But tonight I will tune in to see Gerald Levart

      • They going to have to step up their game. This season was high and dry, only 2 or 3 good episodes. Sly Stone needed subtitles, Kool Moe Dee was boring, Arrested Development was boring.

      • Hey soulsinger, on the old board, someone said he had to threaten Kandi with a restraining order, she wouldn’t leave him alone and she was real needy and clingy. If that’s true, that may be the reason she wasn’t mentioned. I noticed, they didn’t show Eddie’s young young wife, she’s like 40 years his junior but they showed his ex, Gerald and Sean’s mom. I heard Eddie acts real insecure with the young wife, paranoid that she’s stepping out because of the age difference.

    • Man, he had to be hard up to get with Monique. Never liked her, always getting on skinny people but she went on a diet and her ex said she was slinging hard between gigs and another ex left her at the altar, we not going to even get into her and Sidney, you can tell she keeps that marriage together and he don’t give a damn. I have to admit, in Precious, she was the shit but other than that, I’m not a fan.

        So she and I have been emailing each other and I told her that I read all of her books minus one ( Red Light Wives) so she sent me an email to say if I couldn’t find RLW that she would send me an autograph copy.

        And guess what? :D :D :D

        She was kind enough to send me not one but two autographed books. One of Red Light Wives and the other book she sent was God Don’t Make no Mistakes

        I have been on cloud nine ever since. These books are like diamonds to me I put God Don’t Make no Mistakes in plastic because I read it and refuse to let anyone touch it

        RLW I’m reading now which will make it complete of all her books I’ve read

        I know I sound like a gitty fan but ever since I read God Don’t Like Ugly I fell in love with Mary Monroe’s books

        • I tape it weekly, but I tried watching it and decided washing and ironing the sheets kept my interest more. I apologize! I will try watching once again without deleting it after five minutes.

  41. I’ve watched Soul Man and I, too forget when it originally airs. I like the Exes also. I’ve learned that both shows air several times. By the next week, (in most cases) I see the previously aired shows. Just this week, I’ve told myself that both shows come on Wednesdays. I like the Betty White comedy but I think I’ve missed most of the shows. The cable shows have different seasons. Glad to know I’m not alone in forgetting, seems I should remember since I don’t watch much TV.

  45. After the Unsung episode of Gerald, I was left with more questions than answers. Maybe it’s me, but all of the excuses about him being in pain, declining revenues, bills to pay, fewer concerts, not feeling appreciated bec of no grammy, seems like they were hinting at suicide instead of accidental overdose. Seems like they wanted one story to hit the media for his reputation but the way they spoke, made it seem like he was depressed and maybe it was suicide. His episode could have used another hour. I for one was glad to see Martha have her say, she was the mom not wife#2. That entire episode with Gerald & Sean dying within 16 months of each other was just very sad. Mikki looked better on this Unsung than on her own episode. Maybe she has cleaned herself up.

    • I agree, more questions than answers, we were left to figure it out and come to our own conclusion. What kind of mess is that. A lot of artists complain about how unsung sugar coats and edits. Jody was real vocal about it.

Pr said a long time ago that these nasty ass porn stars be paying big bucks for fake std papers and how they be having their papers altered, look at Mr. Marcus broke down ass altering his nasty ass syphillis results. A long time ago, I read on another board that he was best friends with that gossip guy jawn Murray, don’t know if its true cause I never saw a pic of them hanging but u never know. I was through with jawn when he dissected bw.

    • I was rooting for Usher, however, he should have listened to his mother in the first place. We live, and we learn. It is too bad about his ex wife’s son though. At least Usher was there, for a minute!

      • I don’t really have a preference. I do hope Usher doesn’t attempt to replace those boy’s mother with one of his many jump offs. That would be a mistake and it would hurt those kids.

    • I hope Usher is the better parent. On the other hand, what a devastating loss for his ex-wife. To have had a son die and to lose custody of two sons in a short period of time. Hopefully, she will have liberal visitation. Surely, there are things we aren’t privy to that resulted in this decision. I know I would not handle a loss like this well.

  51. This week has been a trip. So Katherine can’t ask for detail report of her son’s estate – wow. I’ve seen it all. Even I get quarterly reports on my little investments, smh

    • I hope Mrs. Jackson is handling this situation as best she can. This whole thing can severely impact her health due to her age. Rebbie, Randy and Janet will be guilty for life if their mother leaves this earth still hurt and angry at them. Smh.
