  6. When I read that 1st line “How could she love anyone other than herself” only 1 celeb will ever come to mind and that is Mariah Carey”. I could see her getting married but not having kids. She is way to vain. The only problem I have with putting her against this BI is I never heard of any whorish rumors surrounding her. MC has been on the scene since 89. I heard of the diva rumors and even alcoholic rumors but not sleeping around.

      • Nick is a Sr. VP at Viacom. He is the one making all the decisions at Nickelodeon, Teen Nick and Nick Jr. He runs those channels. He also has a daily syndicated radio show. He also host America’s got Talent. He also does stand up comedy which he tours. He also owns all his own stuff – i.e. all shows he’s been in or produced. Like the ones for MTV, the ones produced for Nickelodeon, etc. He also has a management company and record label. so he is a hard worker, hustler, businessman and good with his money. He had made a million by 17 years old when he had his own show on Nickelodeon. Google him. He didn’t need to marry Mariah for her money, he has more than enough of his own.

          • Well, in between Selita and Mariah was no other than Kimmy K. She was actually dating Nick when the tape came out and he dumped her ass immediately. Word is that Selita was with Nick for the money and still had some sort of connection with her ex. When Nick figured out that it was more about the money than him, he moved on. Nick has always had pretty women and many have chased after him but he has always had a thing for Mariah and when he got that chance, he seized it. And he definitely knew she wasn’t after his money.

    • Hey Fam! @ Dwelesmom, Etta was a hard living woman who spoke her mind, she could talk shit with the best of them, sling back a pint of liquor, play cards and get her fix. With Beyonce, she didn’t hold back, it was nothing personal, that’s just how Etta was, she had a rough life, came from the streets, did time in prison, slept with other women’s husbands and had no apologies, she was a hard living woman who could sing her ass off. She came from another generation.

  15. When Mariah first started out, she had just come out with Vision of Love, she was real nervous on stage, innocent, starving. Her wardrobe was nothing special but she sung her ass off. She’s not even the same person anymore, all glammed up, fake, divaish and she looks like a street walker. I liked the old Mariah, not whats out there now.

    • Yep, I remember she use to wear a catsuit, her hair was curly brownish and she was thin (no boobs). I like her look then too. I could see her ethnicity – I wouldn’t think she was mixed the way she looks today.

    • I suspect that they (Milian and Cannon) broke up because they were young (like in their late teens to early 20′s). What “love” last that early on? This is why young ones should not be encouraged to play grownups while they are young (waving to Chris Brown and Rihanna). Your emotions are too raw and you are developing your tastes which are called sowing wild oats. This NOT a time to pledge undying love. This is a time to discover you and weed’em out.

  25. Freddie looked like a big ole QUEEN. He may as well come out the closet cause his lip gloss was POPPING! He look gravely ill & too thin for someone who had a larger frame for most of his life. I really do think that is what all the make up was about. During his hay day I never suspected he was sweet. It wasn’t till the mid 90′s when a friend told me his cousin did some work at Freddie’s condo and he was prancing around in some biker shorts hitting on his male cousin. I was shocked.

    • Freddie is sick, he can lie all he want, he don’t look healthy. Jennifer Hudson lost her weight, about the same amount as Freddie but she don’t look sickly. He ain’t healthy and he gay as a fruit loop.

I know it’s suppose to be our history but…I saw an interview of a war vet during that time and he said it was 10% true and 90% hollywood.           • I’m not a movie goer but I made an exception to see Red Tails. I liked the movie. The verdict is still out for me on whether I should be bothered that no black women were depicted in the movie. The theatre of war was in Europe so the lack of black women in that context isn’t surprising. However, I read somewhere that Jazmine Sullivan had some scenes in the movie but they were all cut, reasons unknown. I don’t think the interracial dating is surprising because a fair share of black military men stationed in Europe dated white women while there. Maybe Lucas didn’t anticipate that so many people would be upset at the interracial storyline being featured since he dates interracially himself and doesn’t see it as a big deal and that was reflected in his decision-making regarding the movie. But then I read that that Boondocks guy was involved with the movie, so who knows what, if any, influence he may have had regarding the lack of any black women being in the movie. I’m still undecided on this issue but I do agree that it would’ve been nice to see at least a couple of black women in the movie even if it had required depicting some scenes on American soil for contextual accuracy.

          • @Teina I’m still not going to see the movie! I respect your opinion. But, the interracial agenda is being pushed heavily in the black community and one has to wonder why? True, in Europe, many black military men hooked up with white women. But, why would that have a great part in this film and its not accurate as these men had black wives! They would have been a storyline with depth and accuracy and it could have showed the family lives these men lead, To give more insight. Not a black dude hooking up with a white woman. Hollywood is insulting black women.

      • I was on the phone with my brother while Unsung was on and we were saying the same thing…Freddie is sick. Denial ain’t just a river in Africa. Was it just me or was his speech slower as if he had had a stroke? Personally, I felt that Freddie wasn’t really unsung. He had a lot of number one hits and albums that spanned almost 10 years. It seems like he just didn’t educate himself about the business and his money and was taken advantage of. I thought he should have been on a show more like Life After or Behind the Music rather than Unsung.

      • I sat next to Freddie & and his crew on a flight to the Caribbean 6 yrs ago. He was going to perform at the jazz festival…he was quite a flame. He couldn’t stop carrying on…he so wanted to be recognize. He’s definitely gay & I truly believe he has the bug.

    • I wouldn’t skip it. There were many singers or actors featured on Unsung and Life After that I was never a fan of but their stories were so interesting. They came up during a time with no internet or TMZ. There were so many things hidden that we didn’t know about especially among black celebs. ET only covered Michael, Janet, Prince, Whitney and Lionel (after the Commedores). I stop watching ET after Luther died. They covered his amazing careeer in 20 seconds by just reporting his death not his life. They never covered his funeral.

      The bits & pieces we did know bout our celebs was safe info the PR people wanted you to see on Video Soul. Some of the Unsungs & Life Afters have been watered down but they are still very interesting.

She was on this awards show, she opened the envelope and said, Donna Summer is the winner again, Donna came up, got her award and said, I thought you knew. I almost had a heart attack laughing so hard and old horny Herb was always trying to feel up Linda when they performed. Glad she born again, after the duo broke up, she was bragging about signing for this big solo deal and nothing happened.

  31. This just my opinion but I think Halle Berry is dealing with a PR nightmare regarding this custody battle. I can tell from reading many blogs that just like me, people are not feeling Halle on this issue. My guess would be cause there is a child involved. It seem like Halle want to take away all his parental rights without much cause. My mom said she should have went to a sperm bank if she wanted 100% control. Nyla has a daddy. Just cause she is a A list celeb does not give her more rights.

    • Agree Atl. I think Halle is taking this too far. Nahla doesn’t look or act like she’s being abused. Why would a women want to remove a DAUGHTERS father from her life? Wasn’t Halle’s daddy missing from her life? Daughters need daddy around to show them love so they know what to expect for a man when they are older….if the daddy is a good daddy.

      • Halle situation remind me of Goldie Hawn & her daughter Kate. According to Kate’s dad after Goldie hooked up with Kurt Russell she tried so hard (and succeeded) at poisoning her mind against her dad. Still to this day Kate refers to Russell as her dad. This is not a good look for Halle. They were clowning her the other morning on Tom Joyner.

    • I thought so to cause Vanessa Bryant is legally divorced. I remember PR said they were throwing money at Jason Kidd’s ex wife and she wasn’t biting either.

  34. Freddie was crazy with his money, bought all these acres, bought horses like Hammer. He lost it all. You have to be super rich to invest in horses, just the upkeep will get ya. Freddie bought a Rolls Royce to go along with the horses and acres. He was strutting around town. I saw him in concert way back, he said he had to perform to keep the lights on. I think it was the same sister on Unsung who was on stage with him, she’s caught up. After the show, she was walking around in the lobby hoping peeps would recognize her and she was smelly as hell, talk about funky.
