Black
Presidential Mistress:
Sally
Hemings was the first black presidential mistress in the United States. She was the mistress to President Thomas Jefferson and she would give birth
to his children.
Hemings
was not the typical slave or slave hand. She often traveled in the “presidential
carriage,” and she entered the main house by the front door and she wore
nice dresses and expensive jewelry.
According
to old documents and correspondences, Sally Hemings was a stunningly attractive
black woman, often referred to as gorgeous or beautiful.
As
we stated in another “old school” story, historians and researchers
are trying to find a photo of her, it would be worth millions and they are trying
to locate her gravesite where forensics can determine her physical appearance
(similar to King Tut) from her remains (her skull).
Hemings
may have been the “first black presidential mistress,” but she certainly
wasn’t the last.
Throughout
history, there have been four “black presidential mistresses,” and all of them
have been beautiful.
