In 1977, late comic, Richard Pryor was involved in a passionate relationship with black screen goddess, Pam Grier.  They even appeared on Soul Train that year, slow dancing to fast records.  What Grier didn't know, he was also seeing black actress Deborah McGuire on the side.  Pryor got engaged to McGuire while he was dating Grier.  When Pam found out, she left Pryor.  He married McGuire later that year, when they returned from their honeymoon, he gave her his wallet and told her to 'shop till you drop.'  The marriage lasted a year. A few years later, Pryor sued one of his business managers (who claimed Pryor spent $1 million per year on women and parties) for embezzlement.  This manager had a elite clientele of black stars.  Pryor won the lawsuit.  Pam Grier would allegedly become involved with another high profiled man, Kareem Abdul Jabar.  They eventually broke up and Grier has never married and remains private about her personal life.  She is the only black star from the blaxploitation era who receives a royalty each time one of her films is rented.
