CREW MEMBERS FOR NEW EDITION & GUY BRAWL-RESULTING IN MURDER:

In 1989, the road security manager (Anthony Bee) for the vocal trio, ‘Guy,’ was shot to death and another man was critically wounded in a dispute involving the crew members of the groups ‘Guy,’ and ‘New Edition.’ Ronald Byrd (New Edition's former production manager) was arrested on criminal homicide and firearms violation. The dispute allegedly began during a performance in Greensboro, N.C., the night before and carried over to Pittsburg.

The argument began over a dispute of stage time.  Allegedly, New Edition was concerned about being upstaged by Guy according to the Pittsburg police.  The crewmen then got into a fight that lasted an hour, before the shooting took place.
