I was recently watching a tape
of a “Gospel Awards Show,” it bothered me when some of the winners
praised a man who was considered an icon in the gospel industry. They
all knew he was a pedophile. I had heard horror stories from one of his
A dear friend of mine whom
I will call “Gary,” was the victim of a ‘trio of famous pedophiles.’
Gary had an absentee father and his mother worked two jobs. He joined
a church in Los Angeles. He was only fourteen and extremely good looking,
but his looks also attracted unwanted attention from the preacher and men in
These same men pretended like
they wanted to mentor boys who didn’t have fathers. They lured Gary and other
boys to join them at private functions where they became the victims of sexual
abuse. Gary was passed around, from the gospel icon, to a well-known
gospel singer and an R&B singer.
Gary would eventually become
a “kept man,” for the R&B singer and was often seen driving his
Bentley around Hollywood. Gary was also the inspiration for a hit song
the R&B singer wrote. When Gary got older, he was tossed aside for
a younger boy.
Gary relocated to the bay area
and became a ‘kept man,’ for a top chef who lived in a gorgeous
home in Piedmont (Oakland Hills). Although he suffered bouts of depression
due to his childhood, he enrolled in school, paid for by his sugar daddy.
Over the years, his depression became so severe, he contemplated suicide
but he would eventually die from AIDS.
The icon would die; the
gospel singer still preys on underage boys and the R&B singer died.
