RACIST SERIAL KILLER:

Joseph Paul Franklin (pictured above) was born James Clayton Vaughn in Mobile, Alabama in 1950.  Both parents were mentally and physically abusive.  His sisters claim, he became obsessed with Nazism while in high school.

He did a stint in the Alabama National Guard before joining white supremacist groups in Georgia and Washington, D.C.  In 1976, he legally changed his name to “Joseph Paul Franklin.”   He chose “Joseph” in honor of the Nazi Paul Joseph Goebbels and “Franklin” for Ben Franklin.

Franklin started off firebombing synagogues and spraying mace at inter-racial couples, he soon graduated to murder.   He murdered people (African-Americans and Jews) at random.  His victims were murdered as they loaded groceries into their cars, while they were jogging or leaving synagogues.

Franklin was an assassin who never stopped moving; he traveled up and down the East Coast.  He supported himself by robbing banks.  From 1977 to 1980, Franklin targeted mixed race couples; he referred to them as “MRC’s.”

He committed over 20 murders in twelve states.  He would do surveillance of high schools, malls, and college campus’s, if he saw an African-American male socializing with a white female, he would follow the male, ambush him and kill him.  He would later celebrate by entertaining prostitutes.

On one occasion, Franklin almost hit a black man in a crosswalk, the man glared at him, Franklin grabbed his gun, ready to kill him in broad daylight in front of witnesses; he was detained by a female passenger.

Franklin shot and paralyzed publisher Larry Flynt because “Hustler” magazine dedicated an issue to inter-racial sex.  Franklin also shot and wounded black attorney Vernon Jordan (Bill Clinton confidant) and former president of the “Urban League” because Jordan was jogging with a Caucasian woman.

Franklin was arrested in 1980; he gave detailed confessions of his crimes. He has been tried in several states.   In Missouri in 1997, he was sentenced to death; Franklin considers himself a serial assassin, not a serial killer, motivated by political conviction.  Up until recently, he was the only known serial killer to cite racism as a motive.   His favorite statement: “I was commanded by God to start a race war.”
